RIP - 'vannah girl.
My dad just called me from Ohio to tell me that he has to put Savannah, my dachshund to sleep today. She's been fighting a systemic yeast infection and cancer in her belly for 3 years and is now in pain. Apparently she was just laying on the couch last night whimpering. I don't want my baby girl to have to hurt, so daddy is going to send her over to the rainbow bridge this morning with her favorite
green blankie.
She was always a very good, sweet, SMART girl who loved nothing more than to cuddle up with you and make very strange noises.  She also loved tormenting our golden, connor, and the new boxer puppy, harley. She was the queen of the couch and kitchen and will be greatly greatly missed.

I just really wish I could have been there for her. She was my dog, I should have been there when she left. She was with my dad, who she adored, but I just feel like I failed her somehow. Daddy says she was a trooper and just cuddled up to him and went quietly away. My good strong girl, I miss you. Thank you for being there for me for so many years. Wait for me at the bridge, okay?
