Mice?
A friend of mine has a pregnant mouse, and offered me one.
Are they easy to care for and fun to have around?
Thanks!

Neither IMO. Others will disagree. Mice and rats are prey items, they don't have pet potential from where I sit.

I think that rodents in general smell.
Jason had a rat. It bit him. We whacked it and fed it to one of the snakes. The stupid thing never did take to people, and he tried for months. Oh well, Thor liked it.

I think in general rats are a little less high strung and better pets than mice. I think they are all adorable though. You can't really hold them without fear of them escaping or biting. If you do get them, I would get two of the same sex. They eat just about anything. Your snake will always be licking its chops around it, too.

I have to disagree about all rats biting. The only rats that have ever bitten me I have either been drawing blood from or accidentally scaring in some way. You know how there are 101 tricks to get a snake to eat f/t? Well there's 101 tricks to figuring out why a rat is scared and biting. Most don't bite unless given a good reason to. That being said, if you invoke that bite, the rat won't hold back. JMHO.
Back on topic, mice generally make bad pets. Unless you want to feed those babies off and rebreed, it's really not worth your time. They smell pretty bad, are messy and use much less discrimination about biting than rats.

i own't have mice as they stink and aren't good pets, however rats do make good pets providing your hold them on a regular basis. Mice are lknow for eating their young as well.
