Nick, thanks for sharing this with us.
I know exactly how you are feeling. I myself was three years old when we got our "Pickles" - a cocker spaniel mix. We kids grew up with that wonderful, affectionate, amazing dog, and he died in my arms (euthanasia) when I was 18 years old. Fifteen years together...a member of the family just as important to us as each other.
I still miss him and always will.
Make Tasha's twilight years the best you can - I know you will, and I am sure that your dog feels dearly loved.

She is a beautiful girl!
She reminds me of my Sweet P (13 yrs old).
The sad thing is watching her body not keep up to her mind. Give her glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate it is an all natural suppliment that helps lubricate the joints. (if she isn't already on it)

Nice pics, Nick. She looks like a sweet dog and I know what you are going through. We have a very sweet 12 year-old lab (Bella) that is showing her age and going deaf, but still happy and comfortable. This is my wife's all-time favorite pet and it will be hard on her when she goes. Our only wish is that she goes peacefully.

I grew up with a dog that was my age, she died right before her 14th birthday, she had cancer so we put her to sleep.
DO as much as you can for her now, because my only regret was not spending as much time as I could when she was healthy and could go for walks.

Thanks everyone she's on two perscriptions daily now. And also is on a diet to keep as much weight off her legs as we can so they will last her longer. She still likes to go fishing with me . Thats some of our best times.
