I grew up in a family that raised all kinds of dogs--big and small. I love them all, but I'm more of a cat person. I can't stand the yapping when it's coming from someone else's house. Cats are calmer and more laid back. Unless they're Siamese.

Well, I like ALL dogs, regardless of size ... used to think I was just a big dog kinda gal (I want a dalmation great dane in the worst way, but they aren't exactly apartment friendly), until little 3 lb ball of fuzz called out to me... This is Bailey's Irish Creme (Lhasa-poo). Oops, ok, so I just realized that I don't have a picture of her on the laptop... I'll have to change that later on when I'm actually awake (coffee deprivation, much?).
For now, here's a picture of the only man in my life, Guinness! He's a rescue, but we think he's a German Shep/American Foxhound mix. Doesn't he look like a beagle trapped in a shep's body?? He is my sweet boy, but totally psycho since he was abandoned at 4 weeks. Thrown out of a moving car with the rest of his litter. He was so young, he ended up imprinting on ME and now suffers severe separation anxiety. He has eaten couches, the interior of two trucks, torn up carpet in several apartments, opened the freezer and feasted on frozen T-bones, 4 lbs of bacon, a roast, 1/2 gallon of pink pepperment ice cream... THAT was fun to clean up. He's been through training time and time again and still reverts back to his old ways sometimes. He's a handfull, but how can you not help but LOVE that face? He's such a cuddler too... and too smart for his own good.
As a child, I loved all animals with 0-6 legs... even made a pet of a "walk" (a fly that could not fly *grin* ) that I took for rides in my little red wagon till he ended up dead on his back three hours later(I screamed bloody murder in the middle of the neighborhood when I found him dead). After loosing my childhood dog Frisky to cancer when I turned cold to animals... I couldn't bring myself to love another animal... it was too terribly painful to lose them. I still cry once a year over Frisky's death (20 years later), and that is when I pull out the christmas ornament for the tree that has her picture in it.
After Frisky died I even had to stop getting fish for the aquarium as I would be inconsolable when one died (and they died OFTEN in my house...lol). Vowed I would never own another animal.. I just get too attached. Then Bailey "called out to me" when she was 8 weeks of age (I was then 27), and I've been hooked (a big sucker, actually) ever since. Now I have my snakes, two dogs (down from three after the two boys couldn't get along) and fish, and want a cockatoo or african grey in the worst way among SOOOO many other wants. I don't think I could possibly live an animal-free live ever again.. they just add too much love and happiness to a home and our lives ... little and yappy or a masstiff... don't care... love 'em all!!!
Oh good grief... Ya'll got me talking about my pooches, I better stop or I'll put you all to sleep with a novelette about them I'll post a pic of Bailey later, especially since she just went to the groomer yesterday!
