Ok, now I'm really mad
.. EQQ..
.
My dog, my 96lb tough guy black and tan Doberman dog (which I did in fact rescue from a steel-cable in a junk-yard), was seriously injured last week. A 9" gash on his chest so deep it took three-layers of stitches to close it up. Now it could have been an accident but then again it looks a whole lot like somebody tried to kill him through the fence, like maybe with a machete..
.
All that was bad enough.. but now the danged dog is totally and completely spoiled rotten! He hated the makeshift sweaters we had him in to cover the stitches.. NOW HE WAITS TO BE DRESSED! Used to be he complained when I called him inside, NOW HE SITS AT THE DOOR WAITING.. He never would beg before I gave him 10 pills a day each wrapped in somekind of treat.. NOW HE THINKS EVERYTHING IS BEING MADE FOR HIM.. And he was allowed in the house before, but only in the back hallway.. NOW I COME IN AND HE'S LOUNGING ANYPLACE HE LIKES..
.
What the heck happened to my dog!? .. if I find the guy responsible for all this I can't be held accountable for my actions...
.

how could someone do that. in my opinion people who abuse animals should have the same thing happen to them (may be a lil harsh, but thats my opinion) your dog sounds very lovely and cute. hes been hurt, so thats even more reason to spoil him

Aw, the big baby just took his rightful place as Master of the House.
And of course you shall feed him special treats, dress him stylishly (I can give you a link to doggie haute coutoure) and give up the best places to lounge on to him.
People are sick. When I had a dobie, he got poisend. When I found him in the morning he could barely walk, had uring trickling out and his hair literally fell out in clumps.
We were able to save him by taking him to the Emergency Vet immidiately, but it was touch and go for a while.
And our doberman wasn't even outside much at all, he didn't antagonize anyone or bark non-stop either. So there was no reason for this malice.
Some people are just (edited, lol).
I'm glad to hear he's doing better and that he's getting spoiled

Oh Gus, I'm so sorry for you and that beautiful boy. I remember the stunning picture of him and he's amazing. Of course I'm bias.
They do get so spoiled. Cleo (my dobe) has no clue she is a dog, a big one at that. She was hit by a car four years ago labor day. It was the worst 7 months of my life waiting for her to recover. I had a small baby at the time and then this huge, way more spoiled baby. I swear she gave herself lick granulomas just to make my life miserable. I had to carry her and set her on the ground to pee because otherwise she would just stand at my front door and plant her big butt there and not budge. Everytime I had to carry that big lug around outside I would fume at the person who did this to her. The women just took off after hitting her and half the neighborhood witnessed it. Her ex-husband lived in the neighborhood. Grrrrr. I still want to break her legs in two. It is unexplainable how some people treat the life of another animal.

lol sounds like our german shepard, goes outside, gets sooooo mudy, then yelps like we're beating him when we give him a bath so he can come inside and get a treat. oh and bear (our shepard) learned how to open the "cookie" can, so we have to hide it

Thanks everybody..
.
And to those nursing some (perhaps deserved) hatred of people who abuse animals.. yes, we have all felt that, but this was supposed to be a sort-of "feel-good, everything's better" kind of post.. Take a rest from all the hate and get even talk.. you'll be happier and live longer!
.
Your buddy, Gus.

There are some pets that aren't spoiled? I've never seen one! At least not around this house.
Sorry to hear about your tragedy, Gus. It's a shame there are people like that in the world.

lol another bear story ... when he was a puppy, we had him out in the pasture with us while we were taking care of the horses and one horse stomped his foot (not bear's, he was getting a fly off his own leg) bear hauled butt accross the pasture and when he realised the horse wasn't chasing him, he held up his foot and started whimpering ... and the horse hadn't even touched him gotta love the fakers
