Oh and by the way.....the old #1 bit case dog was the Cocker Spaniel for a long time.
And at work I always ask about Chihuahuas, Skipperkees, and other small dogs if they bite. I only ask about the Am. Staffs, Rottens, and other meat heads if I get the "vibe" from them.

How long ago did you lose the 4 month old puppy?
Parvo can stay in your yard for a long time.
And hoe long did you have him until he came down with it?

I would talk to the vet also before bringing a new dog in the house. We had four others in the house that never got it because it was not from "environmental exposure" but from the actual shot itself. God forbid yours could be the same situation but I'd talk to vets to be sure. I'd hate to hear that this happened again though, that was heartbreaking. I still wonder how many dogs lost their lives because of that batch of immunization.

We lost him about 3 weeks ago but my pups are a little over year old and they have been at the same place for about 7 months. We had him for about 2 months we didn't notice it until about 2 weeks before he passed he stayed at the vet after that, but the vet said parvo had been going around one of the PARKS we walked him in. We aren't bringing the new pup here until they do that test to see if it is still in the ground and it passes. All of our dogs are at our other property right now its about 15 mins away

a properly bred, well trained pitbull will not be ferious at all. and im not talking about those 100-300$ pits you see for sale in your local classifieds section of the paper. i have a pit for 12 years and got him for 900$ from a reputable breeder dedicated to producing sound and balanced pit bulls. the original pit bulls of pit fighting were not tolerated to show human aggersion because that would lead to human injury in the dog fighting ring whether it be when the owner was trying to hold the dog off or pry a dog off of another dog. human aggresive pits were usually killed off or used for training purposes for champion pits. therefore, the pits that were not human aggresive were bred and the best pits were friendly to all humans. this dog is not a guard dog and should never be used as a guard dog because of its hard headedness. in anohter words, the pit will end whatever it started. but improper breeding has caused them to be human aggresive and this is what you see in the news. like mentioned before, this dog is a powerful dog and if dog fighting were still legal, this dog would be the champ. i believe there is only one other dog that may be able to match the strength and stamina of the pit and that is the japanese tosa. anyways, imporperly bred pits are the cause of the negative image that pits have. its sad to see that because the dogs didnt have a choice to be born that way. irresonsible people breeding dogs to make a few bucks and for the illegal dog fighting ring is what caused the demise of what is a prefectly sound dog. my boy was serious when he had to be but never ever in his whole 12 years of life showed aggresion to another human and thats what a pit bull is about. thats how the original pits were and thats how they should be bred.
