Reptile Feeding Schedules ~ Debate v1.0
Now I know this one can get out of hand I am hoping we can all agree, or agree to disagree but here it goes.
I personally feed snakes as I do my monitors; when ever they are hungry. I judge this by there attention to moving objects and if they actively pursue or hunt in the cage.
I find reptiles will not over eat and (correct me if I am wrong) in the wild many snakes and monitors will eat themselves "full" then fast regardless if food is plentiful. I have notice my big boa eats every 2 weeks or every 2 months depending on season. My savanna eats every day but the amount ranges from 2 -10 mice. My retic eats every 3 days or every 2 weeks.
the salvator we had ate every 2 days but would fast depending on season or if she was gravid.
Perhaps some field researchers and private keepers can talk about the fluctuation of diet in reptiles and what it relates to.
