Dead Horse Whipping
The best part of whipping a dead horse is that the horse doesn't mind.
But, complaining is like trying to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.
I often wonder about the "hearty perennial" threads that pop up lobbying for the loosening of the profanity policy on the site; why do people join a site that has policies they dislike/disagree with and then advocate (actively or passively) for the policies to be changed.
Here in Maine, we get a constant influx of people from Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, who moved here because the quality of life is so different (read, better) and then they feel compelled to make Maine into "Massachusetts Lite."
In my opinion, society has been slouching into decline for decades. The fact that this site has standards and a commitment to maintain those standards is one of the reasons that I visit multiple times a day, support the site financially, support the moderators, and act as a booster for the site whenever I can.
For those who can't form a sentence without at least 3 four letter words, consider self-editing yourself on the site a "spiritual disciple," and please don't drag this site down to the level of the course and base content of so many others.
My two cents. Oh, and by the way, "Welcome to Maine! Now go home." (from our best Maine bumper sticker).

Re: Dead Horse Whipping
You can have Maine, Ranger. I'll stick to Massachusetts. I go to Maine twice a year. I go to a small town called Harmony. Couldn't live there, but I keep trying to shoot your animals.

Re: Dead Horse Whipping
It happens over here on the west coast also, Dang people from cali move to oregon and washington, then they feel the need to get there stupid laws up here.
Or you get the type pf person who moves by a 50+ year old industral site and complaim about the noise.

America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She well knows that by enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom. – John Quincy Adams (1821)

Re: Dead Horse Whipping
While I appreciate the sentiment, This thread is whipping the same horse from the other side.
