Hello everyone, I'm getting married and some of the snakes have got to go! This hurts to the heart because Indie and I go way back now....but The wife says no more than 2 snakes and Indie got the short straw....

Anyway, I'm going to post tomorrow on Kingsnake, but if anyone is interested before then, he's about 6', eats like a horse and perfect in every way. I'm asking 1200.00 or B.O.

Contact me here or at amirwst@hotmail.com. I have pics if you'd like, email me for them. (only if you're seriously considering buying please!)

Thanks all!

Man, whatever the other two are, get rid of one of them! Indigo is the king colubrid! That sucks that one has to go, but I can relate to the wife imposed limitations, I suffer from a similar affliction myself.

Could you maybe instead of selling Indie, buy your wife a really nice gift, take her to a nice dinner, then beg for all you're worth? It never hurts to try. (I'm a wife and I suggested it, so maybe, just maybe you have a chance ) I will be rooting for you and Indie!

Assuming these are the indigos that a permit is needed for , and I think yet another one to have em cross state lines... ya need to make sure that if your looking to purchase it....all that is in place prior to such being done.

I'm quite sure the permit is only required if Eastern Indigos cross state lines. So if someone in the same state as you buys this beauty, they will not need a permit. Otherwise, a federal permit will be required.

I agree with JustMe, try and bribe her. That is exactly what I'm doing to get my third species into the apartment

hmmm lets see ya can send it to my friend in PA who can then bring it to me. heh heh just kiddin. I love Indigos . I do have one question though, why do peoples spouses care how many they have as long as they arent the ones that have to clean em, feed em...ect..??? I'm not married but I could never see myself telling my husband they have to stop this or that ESPECIALLY if I knew what they were into BEFORE I married them.. They are their own person. oooh let me shutup cuz this post may come out sounding offensive when its not. lol

If she is worried about finances or a city/state pet limit, I can understand, but if this is a test of how much you love/obey or whatever, I strongly think a nice quiet talk would be in order. You two need to find out now, before the marriage, if you are good at calm discussions and compromise. If you two are unable to work this out in a way that is satisfactory to both of you, than you may wish to reconsider the whole partnership/marriage thing. What happens a few years down the road when you are dicussing something as important as having/raising children, buying a house, etc? Trust me, I am not trying to start any marital discord, just speaking from experience. I found out the hard way that my hubby and I can not have a mature, reasonable effective discussion about anything. I certainly don't want you two to go through what I am going through now.
Best wishes to you and the soon-to-be Mrs Afrodziak

Thanks for the concern guys...yes she certainly knows about the snakes since we began dating, and actually doesnt mind them so much, in fact i think she has come to like them a little and will even hold them once in a while these days - it comes down more to an issue of space for us right now though...we are moving into a house that is a decent size, but there isnt a good place to put the snakes. Its in some ways good that its going to be Indie that goes, because the ONLY problem with Indigos as pets is that when nature calls they are very stinky! LOL and the snakes will actually be staying in the main room of our house because the living/dining/kitchen area is essentially one big open space....I know from experience that Indie would have no problem happily 'lighting up' the whole house!...whereas now they have their own room which helps a lot..

All that said, i LOVE Indie, i had wanted an Indigo for years and i actually had to drive about 400 miles to pick him up from a breeder because i didnt have my permit at the time and i didnt want to lose the good deal i got on the last of the litter. In fact im almost certain that when we get another place which has hopefully a better layout I will be getting another Indigo asap.
