Has anyone here heard of the ' Strange Scaled Snake'?
I have a pic of one in one of my python books, but I can't find any information about them,
The pic is of a slightly blue colored snake, that has a line of scales down the ridge of its back very similar to an iggys raised back scales.
Any one have any links to them or any other help?

I'm not sure what kind of snake it is, I am *assuming* colubrid.
I can't locate my book right now and I believe it is in the back of the one like we have for sale on the site. The one for BPs if I remember right.

Oh yeah, I tried to get the pic of the book from that page, but the pics on that page won't display.

So I guess I found another bug!

I am going to a pet store tommorrow and look in their books, so I can get the Title for it and possibly the scientific name, but for some reason , I don't think it was listed.

Maybe it is, but Jules was talking about the very rare rough scaled python. I don't know its scientific name, but I think it is in the Morelia family.

Is that what happens to a snake on a "bad hair" day?

I found the scientific name of the particular snake, which is also called a keel scaled snake.
It is Xenodermus javanicus.
Sub family of Xenoderminae , appears to have two subspecies, the other bieng Stoliczkia borneensis, which is a rear fanged, solid toothed snake from Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sarawak and Sabah.

The only link I can find to them is Indonesia nature conservation database
