difference-Nelson's or Mexican?

Does any body know what is the difference between a mexican milk snake and a Nelson's milk snake? i find them both the same color pattern.
i bought a milk snake but it didn't say what kind of morph it was. and i looked all over the internet and mine looks like it is a mexican milk snake or a Nelson's milk snake.

well, annulata and nelsoni look quite different, the number of bands are different, nelsons have fewer bands, and get a little larger than mexican milks.

They are different subspecies, not "morphs"

you should check out kingsnakes and milksnakes by ron markel (TFH publications) it is a pretty good overall reference for lampropeltis.

Its also easier to find then the williams book with the same subject matter.

Can you post a pic?

I did a quick search on the internet and found the following....

Mexican Milk Snake
Lampropeltis triangulum annulata

http://www.applegatereptiles.com/species/annulata.htm

Nelson's Milk Snake
Lampropeltis triangulum nelsoni

http://www.applegatereptiles.com/species/nelsoni.htm

If you show us a picture of yours I am sure we can tell you something about it.
