The local pet store just got one in and I am considering getting it, also they have no idea how to take care of it. Does anyone have one of these or know a link to a good caresheet? I like this snake a lot it has an attitude and it has some great colors. Thanks

The most i could find on it is from Ratsnakes

The ss. you saw sounds like it may be E. t. vaillanti of the main species of E. taeniura.

I reckon you right Eddie!
I found a pretty good care sheet through "google"
put "reptilista, Elaphe taeniura" for your search.
You will have to hit "translate this page, depending on
how good your spanish is!
Let me know how you went Countryboy.

what do you want to know about them,
other than they get huge ,up to 8ft, and they eat alot (2-3 rats pr week),
and they do not like heat (just room temps are fine)
there is not a whole lot more to know about them.

They also go to the bathroom alot.

it stinks.
Bad.

need any info, just IM or email me.

114 isnt too bad, they wholesale around 75 for babies, so being your getting it retail, its not bad at all,
I was selling babies for 125 when I was breeding them.

They need high humidity,
and they are not from vietnam, they are from Burma and Thailand.
I always kept moist spaghnum moss hide boxes with them.

Yea so much for that, I went in this morning to tell her what I found out and to tell her that I would be getting it later that afternoon when class was over and I went to look in the cage and it was dead. I think they cooked it. I told them this is why they shouldn't order a snake till they found out jow to care for it. I asked her if she was ordering another one she said only if I will buy it so i'm going to have them wait for a while an I'll get one later.
