Alright...I still think Ranger is a cool guy name...assuming it is a guy. But since you are vacillating I'll add another name. Call him Hook...as in "Fish Hook". After all...it also relates to Captain Hook, who had a hook on his hand and lived on the water.

I've always wondered about that...
I rely on what breeders have said the sex of my snakes is, and from that point on I never have them sexed. Unless a Vet would have to know for some reason.

Knowledgeable and not so knowledgeable do it all the time. I have seen the results from a vet slip with a probe and I have seen snakes butchered by self-proclaimed experts. Granted these are the exception rather than the rule, but why take the risk if it is unnecessary.

Yes, it is VERY easy to mangle a snakes bedroom parts like that. I was always so paranoid when I sexed mine that I was probably too gentle and I wouldn't doubt if some were mis-sexed as females.

I read the post and decided that I am not going to be breeding it I just like the lil fella. I didnt have it probed at all.. I never actually thought of it like that... The buddy thought I was going to breed watersnakes thats why he said he was going to do it so luckily between yall and him I didnt cause the guy any unneeded discomfort.
