could this happen2 (poll)
I caught my water snake at a very commercial lake in WV. People from all around visit the lake. I looked up water snakes and found that mine looks almost identicle to a florida water snake. Could some one have realesed it take a look at these pics.
here is a florida water snake for sale on kingsnake

Here is mine

I think he could have been realesed because he is very calm and eats unscented pinkies on command

Re: could this happen2 (poll)
For the poll I put maybe. It depends on far too many factors. I'm sure a Florida Ribbon would do way better than an Indigo. For the snake its a normal NORTHERN. I can't believe you can't tell the difference in the two pictures.

Re: could this happen2 (poll)
Oh and for the calm part, most neonate waters are. Any snake can be calm in the right hands. And please nobody feed me that oh but white lips/mambas/ATB's are evil bull.

Wow, BCI MAN, you're even snarky to your buddies. Impressive.
So far as the question at hand, I believe it's possible but unlikely. Sure looks like a regular Northern Water Snake to me, but they aren't my area of expertise either.

Re: could this happen2 (poll)
I have to agree that it looks like a northern.
I put that it IS possible - I work in the nuisance wildlife control business. We've had calls to come get snakes(we're in Oregon) and gone out to find Leucistic corn snakes in someone's garage, or the time we found a small albino burm in the basement of a business center.
Things happen - people are stupid - it is absolutely posible that some dork with his new snake took it outside and got it lost, or just decided he didn't want it anymore and let it go. It's totally within the realm of possibility.

Re: could this happen2 (poll)
It's definitely a northern water snake, just like mine that I also caught here in WV a few years ago.
