Re: Identify this King..
Well the poor thing acted like she was starving, struck at the fuzzy several times and tried to eat it belly first, then butt first before figuring out that the head was the way to go. I couldn't get any pictures, she rattled her tail and acted snotty about me watching her eat. I went to check on her a few mins later - it was gulped down and being pushed into her belly. So, operation fuzzy mouse was a success.

The underlined is probably musking which is a defense a number of species use. Smells bad, tastes worse I would imagine. Combine that with the nervous sign of tail rattling and you have a pretty typical snake that has not been handled much. Give it a week or two before you try handling it much. Provide lots of hiding places in the enclosure so it can feel safe and you will have a wonderful pet.

Re: Identify this King..
$20 for that king snake seems good. I saw at a local reptile shop that snake going for double that amount and it was a juvi.

Re: Identify this King..
Thanks John E Dove, we figured she was just very nervous about the handling process. She tried to strike today, but a fuzzy was present just a few feet from her, so we figured it was just a hunger response.
