I hate people!!!!!!

I was in the truck with my mom saturday and we were driving down a rural paved road and I see a huge black racer, maybe a few inches less 5 foot. I yell stop the truck to mom and she pulled into a drive way about 30 feet away from the basking snake. I run really, really quickly towards it but a truck beats me to it. I hear male and distinct female laughing as they speed up and line up their wheels to hit it. They got it but they weren't the ones that killed it it had already been ran over several times. It was hot as burning rubber. It had probably been dead there 2 or 3 hours but it makes me angry because someone had to have hit it on purpose. It was a 25 mph zone and a very straight road. I carefully took it out of the road and placed it in the woods. I held it as I would a live snake supporting the body, for I know that kindness is felt after death no matter how simple that kindness may be.

Also, about a year ago my mom was coming home from work and pulled over to save a turtle in the road and a guy in a big white pick up lined up his wheels to hit it. He then turned around to wave at my mom. When my mom told me that I just laughed. The box turtle's going to a better place but one day death will creap up on the driver. Who knows what his fate will be like after death for those sadistic actions?

I nearly got run over myself when someone tried to run over a very large red-eared slider while I was riding my bike...I drove in front of the car. LOL They were upset but I asked "You wouldn't have been happy if you ran ME over, would you??" They said they didn't see it...YEAH RIGHT you don't see a 2 foot long turtle in the middle of the road. If it had been anything else you would have avoided it to not damage your precious tires.

People are sick, especially drunk college guys (there's too many of those things around here).

I have taken in turtles before that had been hit by cars its a sad sight, In fact I saved a box turtle from becoming a oil spot outside a week ago... I just hope no one kills that giant common snapper in the ditch across the street.. People can be heartless towards herps..

That kind of thing makes me so dang angry. My husband and I rescued a huge red ear slider out of the road not too long ago. We pulled the car sideways and blocked both lanes of the road so I could get out and grab it. It was pretty funny because the dude behind us was getting all angry and honking, doing that "What are you doing, you nutjob" thing with his arms, then I held the turtle up so he could see what I was doing and he kind of went "Oh!" and gave me a thumbs up. So that was neat. I guess not everyone out there is a demented jerk.

that's horrible. why must people feel the need to blatantly disrespect nature? betcha most of them are christians and should know that running over any animal is a complete sin.

I hate people too. I live in the uk, and we have slow worms, i smacked some guess across the face becuase it was chopping its tail off bit by bit, they can loose them anyway, but its not the point.

Kept it for a couple weeks and let the lil guy go, cute thing he was.

Some people are just heartless, and i wish something bad would happen to them.

It is despicable to see people do things like this. I seen the biggest snapper I have ever seen in my life hit in the highway, it really made me sick because it was on the shoulder, and somebody went out of their way to hit it.
