Mine will eat nothing but fish...he is afraid of worms...if I put a nightcrawler in there, he goes to the farthest point in the tank away from it. Pinkie mice...NO WAY. I almost tricked him once by putting in a few fish and then dropping in a f/t pinkie, he dove for it and but once he got closer he went the other way.
Most of the time he likes to stay hid in his hide to the point he poops in there and lays in it. He has plants, rocks, all types of stuff. BUt likes his hide. He gets rosy red minnow and sometimes goldfish when the petstore is out of the rosys.
Temperment? Well, lets just say this, if you are a South Park fan, my ribbon is named Tweak. He is definetly not a handle snake. Display only. really neat to watch when he doesn't know you are around, and fun to try to stare down when he does notice you and freezes in really weird positions. You can tell it is agony for him, but there is NO WAY that he is going to move before you. lol. Cleaning cage day pretty much results in a musking, thrashing, vicious bites (I mean in intensity, if he really could even break the skin he would be as bad as a blood python. He bites and wiggles his mouth to attempt to pull off chunks. lol. If you get one, set up a nice size tank for it and enjoy watching it, but don't texpect to hold it on your lap and watch a movie like you can do with a RTB.

Re: does anyone here own any ribbon snakes?
I love ribbon snakes.
Don't feed it goldfish or rosy minnows - NO NUTRITION.
Go with feeder guppies, mollies or platys. Livebearers are better for your shhhnake.
Good luck.
