Would it be okay for a taiwan beauty to be on cypress mulch?

Re: Taiwan beautys caging

yes

although they are so messy, I would probably put them on something easier to clean.

you'll end up having to totally replace it every few weeks, mine did just fine on aspen when young, and newspaper when older.

to cover the humidity, I provided a moist hide as well as a dry hide, and gave them a pretty big water bowl.

.
That's all good info.. I kept them pretty much as I do redtails (true redtails) and they did very well. Here's a question: are these neat snakes disappearing from the trade? It seems like they are not seen as often as in past years.
.
Thanks.

Re: Taiwan beautys caging

I guess they aren't as desirable as the blue beauties and cave dwellers.

I think they are nifty.

Just got tired of smelling my snake room that had 8 big bulls and 12 taeniura 4 days after feeding time.

I think many others have the same complaint.

In my opinion the market has changed so much. Now I've noticed that burms and kenyan sand boas aren't nearly as popular as they were two years ago.

Re: Taiwan beautys caging

when the ball fad has died down a bit more and people realize they aren't going to get rich, other species may regain some of their previous popularity.

lots of people I noticed totally shifted their efforts to one or two species.....
I love ball pythons, but I think i'd be totally bored with a collection of only bp's

the thing with the kenyan sand boas seems cyclical , i've seen them "come and go" in popularity about 5 times over the last 16 years
