Re: most expensive colubrid

Every so often two headed snakes show up with an asking price into the 6 figure range.
Like the hybrid you mentioned they are just oddities someone is attempting to capitalize on.
Personally I feel hybrids are interesting but not worth the price of either of their pure blood parents.

Re: most expensive colubrid

I think crosses or morphs shouldn't be considered when looking at the most expensive normal morph colubrid...

So far from what I've seen, the Malaysian Red Mountain Racer is the most expensive to me, with pairs most often being well over $2000.

MY .02
I'd have to say, no morphs or freaks included, Drymarchon rubidus (mexican westcoast cribo) I've seen'em for well over 3000 for one, heck an adult proven indigo can sell for 3000 if someone wants it enough.
Another option would be wanting something so rare that you have to be a AZA zoo, that cost 30,000 a year.

Re: most expensive colubrid

there are several colubrids that are more than $2,000 each.

oh Adrya, red moutain racers are WAY overpriced, i'd expect to see a huge price drop in the near future.

Re: most expensive colubrid

the erythura (sp?) are like 1500-2000 each as well.

the thing about high priced colubrids is we usually won't see them advertised anywhere, the people who are most likely to get them have a backline on them so most dealers already know who to call when something really rare comes in, so they never make it onto the "public" market, so most of us will never see what someone would of paid.
