Leucistic Texas ratsnake with black scales

Has anyone ever seen one with black scales on it?
I saw one today that except for 5 black scales on his back was the typical solid white. It was also easy to reach in a pick up. A little tail rattling but no biting. I put it on 24 hour hold since it was kinda unique looking but was wondering it this is a sign something is wrong with it or if this is normal (especially since it allowed you to reach in an get it out).

Re: Leucistic Texas ratsnake with black scales

mine has 2 black scales, and a few red ones.

its not totally unheard of for some remnants of pattern to show up.

sounds cool for sure.

Re: Leucistic Texas ratsnake with black scales

Hmmm. I wonder if remnants of pattern could be used as an indicator of a snake that has the potential to have a decent temperament.
Something to think about. I may need to do a poll on this.
