Are you tracking the snake, or is someone else?
I had actually just read about that method from an old reptile book a couple weeks ago, and also wondered what it had looked like, seems kind of old school for someone to be doing in todays technology.

We have a Dusky-bellied Water Snake (Lycodonomorphus laevissimus) that looks like that but they have markings on thier belly's ( the the name implise) But then it's far from home. They are kept here by herps.
