Oh No...Here we go again! lol....read the thread a couple of threads down where Lori was looking to ID a gopherbullpinefoxsnakething....LOL...we are still trying to figure that one out...Your's is without any doubt a gophersnake though...that much I will bet my life on. Looks like a sonoran to me too with all the redish color but who knows? was it w/c or captive bred? There is always the factor that someone could have bred a sonoran with a great basin or some other locale...Great basins look like sonorans but the light color at mid body is much more drab than the pretty red sonorans...I have seen redder sonorans than this one though....but the photo really doesn't show a whole lot and unless your arm is a light source, I would say the photo is a bit washed out as well ....my guess is sonoran but I reserve the right to back peddal at any time....is he/she still up for adoption? I posted a reply expressing interest in the adoption forum.

Hey! I just talked to Joe on the phone and I will hang on to him 'til January. But I warn you you just walk by the tank and he coils and strikes at the glass....but I don't think that I'm much of a colubrid person. No luck with corns or this gopher. Oh and the picture is very washed out. He does have nice red down the sides. Maybe I can get Joe to take a good picture for me. It's either Sonoran or Pacific. I'd need a better shot to narrow it down any further than that.

I don't see any resemlance to Pacific. Looks pretty Sonoran to me. Sonorans and Great basins are fairly similar though.....but still I am leaning more towards Sonoran because of the apparent red.
