Black racer temperament?
I spent half the day looking for herps today. We didn't find anything exciting until we were on the way home; about 2 blocks from home. There was a racer (about 6') on the road. It went into someone's yard when it saw my car. I decided not to get any closer because I didn't have a snake stick. Was I right in thinking these things can have an attitude, and I would regret it if I tried to relocate him without a stick? I HAVE to start remembering my camera!!

Also a few years ago I came across one about 6ft long and managed to grab it and hold it up by the tail.. I really couldn't get full control of it because it was lunging at my face constantly.... lol so i'm holding it up high by the tail like Steve Irwin always did and she was lunging... they HATE the face. My girl strikes at everything and is even protective of her food.. lol but I love her anyways.  |

Thanks Adrya. I figured what the snake had in mind wasn't my idea of fun. I'll work my way up to wrangling racers I guess.
