Hi! I wanted to share pictures of our first snake. She wasn't planned (mommy, can we keep her?) but we all just love her... seems odd to love a snake, but she is just so cool... Anyway, I've been learning tons from all of you(especially Lisa ) and our little garter seems to be doing quite well. Also in her photo album is a little mystery snake that we took inside just long enough to ID the little bugger and then released it.
Please visit Sly's photo album. I'd love to know what species she is. I'm leaning towards Thanmophis elegans elegans, but really have no clue

Welcome to RTB! I too am new to snakes but you wont learn more about them anywhere else but here! There are hundreds of really knowledgable people who can answer any question you might have. And yes, you can love a snake! My first that I got a week ago is a crazy biter but I still love him (and he's calming down). Nice pics. Welcome aboard.

THAT'S NOT A DOG!!! THAT'S A HORSE!!!! I saw a great dane go right through a double pained sliding glass door head first. Only had a scratch on his paw and under his neck from the glass. It shattered everywhere. He saw someone outside and thought it was a party.
That slide show capability rocked!!! I didn't have to click on every pic, it did it for me...kewl! Nice snakes too! I got to try to implement that slide show into my album!!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Also, for looking at the pics of our little Sly!
Alice, I think I chatted with you for a few minutes the other day. You have Jose, right? How'd the gloved handling session go?
Oh, and Captain Morgan, our puppy's brother went through a hotel window while his owners were loading the car. Only he severed a tendon and needed two surgeries... these guys remind me of Bam Bam from the Flinstones... they are toddlers stuck in huge strong bodies. They really don't know their own stregth. Most are very calm and sweet, though.
Take care!
Tami

Welcome to RTB...That is a nice Dane....I used to have a big Brindle Great Dane named Tiggr. He was the best house dog I ever had.
Those little sharptailed snakes are often mistaken for baby rosy boas by novice collectors...cute little things. They eat slugs though....ewwww

Hey Julius! Danes are awesome housedogs Louie is our second and I hope I never have to be without one. Thanks for the welcome and for looking at Sly & the Sharptailed Snake. It was so very cute. It was under a large piece of bark with a slug when we found it. The kids wanted to keep it, but there was no way I was collecting slugs on a regular basis!
