Help corn snake help!! if your on please take a look

well I've kept alot of different breeds, but just got a cornsnake (lol) now she's a hatchlin, 3 months most,

now heres the problem, I found a couple mites on her; I cleaned her up w/my mite killer and redid the cage, then i noticed some discoloration on her side, like a greenish color. I dont know what to think, She's a butter so white w/ orangish stripes, this weird greenish color is on her side and I'm worried that maybe the mites caused it or something??? dont know what to think, pictures tmmrw but please help now if you can

alrighty... first off, is the green discoloration making the scales feel different? or is it "eating away" at the scales? or does it seem to be part of the color? is it a slimy goo? ive had mites before, and never experienced discoloration. a good thing we need is for you to fill out the questioniere below, and post good closeup shots

Species:
How long have you had this animal?
Ambient Temps:
Basking temps:
Size:
Diet within the past year for snakes--the past 6 months for lizards:
Last time this animal ate:
Frozen thawed/ live/ stunned/ freshly kiled?
Bulbs if any utilized (be as specific as possible--look on bulb to get make and wattage):
Heat sources (makes and wattage):
How are you measuring temps?
Cage size and type:
Substrate:
Symptoms:
Can you upload any pics?

Green? or sort of a fungussy brownish greenish looking color?

Without seeing it, its hard to say..I am tempted to say it could be scale rot.

If the snake is on carpet, that is a likely culprit..the snake poops, you clean with bleach, no amount of bleach will get rid of the urate dust and the combination of heat and humidity is a prime breeding ground for bacteria..
However scale rot can occur under many conditions...

IF it is in fact scale rot, remove the substrate, and treat the snake with neosporin (w/o Lidocaine) or other triple antibiotic 2ce a day.. The problem with scale rot is it could be indicative with an overall infection.

Check this link for more care info:

(scroll down to Ulcerative Dermatitis)

Check here for pics of scale rot in a boa:
http://www.redtailboa.net/modules.ph...warticle&id=19

I hope that helps, and if it is scale rot, I might have the vet look it over to make sure it doesnt have something else going on.

Well, couldnt the greenish part be bruising? Maybe when the snake was grabbed it ended up being bruised. I know that little snakes wiggle A LOT when handled and maybe someone squeezed a little to hard with their fingers to grip him on his sides. I remember seeing a picture of a albino burmese python with bruising from constriction on this site. Maybe thats the reason you say the green is starting to fade on its own.

Mites are scary especially on baby snakes. I dont want to scare you, but we had a tiny hatchling with mites and he ended up dying from the stress. Make sure the mites are taken care of and dont handle him more than you have too, stress is the number one killer for tiny babies.
