Congrats on getting them take the rat pinks. I wonder though, have you tried scenting them with frozen sirens? I have done this with anoles for other snake species, and it was ALOT easier than having to keep live anoles.

Frozen Sirens are not that easy to come by  But I do keep frozen snakes, lizards, frogs, toads, quail, voles, african mice, and other various things on hand for unusual feeders. But since I have the tank set up, I may as well keep them alive and see if I can get an egg mass. A couple hundred free sirens would be nice.

Im sry. I think you misunderstood me. I meant have you tried freezing the sirens you have now, and using them to scent rat pinks indefinitly. So the same 2 or 3 sirens would last forever.

When repeatedly thawing and refreezing the animal tends to break down and make it more difficult to work with. I think the slime is the key and a dead animal would not produce any more. I still have about a dozen Sirens so i should be good for quite some time. Plus, they are very interesting captives. I really enjoy them.
