Alyssa's & Noah's *new* rat snakes
We had a great day at the Carolina Reptile and Exotic Animals Show yesterday in Raleigh. Noah received an early birthday present, a black & banded California king snake. Alyssa, who has been " thinking about" wanting a snake of her own, fell in love with the many herps at the show. She picked out a handsome baby normal corn snake, for her pet. Noah named his yearling cali king " Sparkle" because of the way she sparkles in sunlight. Alyssa named her baby corn " Cary". She hasn't said exactly why, but I think it's because Cary kinda rhymes with Cally (our oldest daughter's corn) -- and Alyssa likes Cary Grant.

Oh, Look at those happy faces  And the snakes look GREAT. Very pretty. Normal corns are my favorite and I wish we were allowed to keep them in GA.

Normal Corns really are much more beautiful. I have a Amelanistic, and it is sweet. But we have Corns here and if we have them here, we can't own them. I had to keep records and a receipt on my normal Northern Pine before they would let me keep her here. It's a pain in the behind. Have you tried to get an Okeetee? Check out www.cornsnake.net. They don't occur in Georgia, and it would be considered a color phase...natural albeit. |

THANKS! I purchased weanling rats for Zorro, but was truthfully out of cash AND time. Everyone was in the van, hungry and waiting for me to get out there.
So, I didn't get any for Cally, Cary or Sparkle. We'll likely order frozen feeders from RodentPro.com tomorrow. The rep for RP told me he will ship to me FREE if I order $100 worth. IF what need -- pinkies (x2) & hoppers -- sums $100, I'll order them tomorrow. If not, I'll likely pick up some live mouse from a pet store in Myrtle Beach one day this week.
Everyone is settling into their new homes (including Cally), so we won't feed until later this week -- or early this coming week.
PS- Does that sound right according the pics? Pinkies for Cary (Alyssa's corn) and Sparkle (Noah's cali king) and hoppers for Cally (Alex's corn)?
