It looks like a corn snake or rat snake.(They are basicly the same thing anyway.) Rat and corn snakes are native to florida and most are not aggressive so you may have just found a wild snake. Its very neat looking what ever it is.

Its a juvenile rat of some sort. When it gets older it will develop its adult colors. all rats look much the same young. The belly suggests red rat but not certain.

so it may be a corn? or a rat or both... hmmm interesting well i fed him a nice f/t rat baby... about 2 hours ago i was making the rat twitch so it would look alive and then down it went in less than 5 mins.... hehe
i plan on keeping him (no flaiming, yelling) cause hes such a nice snake.... and even my dad likes him and says i can keep it wich is rare for my dad to say about a WC no matter what the kind, i guess he just likes the look of Issa but who knows

Have you treated him yet? Is he seperate from your collection? Judging by what everuone else says and they few things I noticed(the belly, scale arangement) he seems to be something of the corn or rat family. There are many kinds of corns and rats in florida and surrounding areas that some sort of a "mutt" rat is a possibility. Either way its a nice one, Give him a few years and it may be easier to tell

It's just a gray ratsnake. North florida gray rats normally have a little salmon on the belly. That's not unusual. Perhaps it has something to do with cornsnake influence at some point but probably not and if so, not much. Cornsnakes have heavily patterned heads as do crosses with other rats. So anyway, it's a gray ratsnake....fairly common in your area.

my first impression was ooh its a grey rat, but when i looked at him close enough i was like. "hmmm hes not like any rat i have ever seen" soo yah...
is it possible for corns to breed with rats? i mean not to sound stupid or anything but i have not seen a rat with a brownish looking tail like that... about a year ago i got a 3' 6" grey rat the was all the grey color like the side shot of issas head... and his belly was almost alll white with some grey, thats why i am puzled so idk...
