Corn Snake For Beginner
I Hope This Is In The Right Place? Would A Corn Snake Be A Good Place To Start With Snakes? My Son Wants One And Secretly I Do Too. My Wife Hates The Thought Of A Snake In The House. Any Input Would Be Great.

welcome to the site!
yup, you have it in the perfect place.
corn snakes are great beginner snakes! they get a decent length, without the huge amount of girth. you could also look into ball pythons. have a look at some caresheets, and see whats best for you. and feel free to ask any question that comes to mind, we will be more than happy to help ya out. just be sure to research the type of snake and its requirements before you get it.
how old is your son?

He Is Seven. I Have A 55 Gallon Aquarium And Have Been Researching The Different Care Sheets. I Think This Would Be More Than Enough Room For A Corn For Its Entire Life. Do You Recomend Astro Turf? It Seems Like The Easiest, Just Change The Whole Carpet When Needed. Thanks For The Input.

55 sounds good. And I'd say yes to the turf. I use it for my Boas and Milk snake. I have several pieces per cage, and change them out when needed. Also you could look into getting a milk snake. They have lots of color. They don't get to big. And, are pretty docile.

corn snakes are awesome if you like dark snake you can get a corn and if you like light snakes you can get a corn lol. i would use newspaper because the corn would probably want to crawl around under it

I agree, newspaper over turf not only extra hidding places but less chance of bacteria hiding places (possibly even free just ask your local newspaper for their left overs that they are going to throw away)

The Newspaper Would Be Easy. My Father In Law Works For A Newspaper And I Get A Free Newspaper Daily. I Am Sure I Could Get More If Needed. I Thought The Astroturf Would Look Better.

I perfer aspen for most snakes. Cheap, great hiding, and sanitary. I would check out www.cornsnakes.com as they are the corn experts. Good luck
