That black looks like he's either young or has some N.pine influence in there.
With Pituophis, i've put males with females and females with males and had the same results.
But if your getting a new animal, I would try your best to NOT introduce them right away.
You should have at least 3-6 months of quarantine before you put any snakes together that are not part of the same established collection.
Black pines are probably not a whole lot different then a southern pine or a bull.
Should be fairly easy if the animals are in the right condition (body weight, health, etc)
black pines are really cool, glad to see others trying to work with them.
There are VERY few left in the wild from what i've heard. (yet the dont get much protection)

if the overall husbandry is good, and the animals are healthy, its not hard at all.

size of the female and locale as well as genetics are all factors.

sounds like a pretty good snake to breed for the first time? what are the temps and humidity that the eggs need to be to incubate.

When I bred my N. Pines, they were in a 100 gallon tank that I had put a seperater in when I brumated them. At the end of three months, I fed them and let them go through their first shed, then took the seperation out. My male went right after female. She ended up laying eight eggs.
Beautiful snake by the way. Can't find any Black Pines around here, so if you are successful, let me know, I would love to have one.
