Snakes of Malaysia
My second post in the forum, and I feel very welcomed by some of your kind replies to my first post. Here's some snakes amassed during my collection over just one year.
the speckle-headed whip snake or ahaetulla fasciolata.

The blue bronzeback, a deadringer to the elegant bronzeback.

The dog-faced water snake. Now doesnt the head remind you of an ugly mutt?

The mock viper or psaymodynates pulvurulentus. Bites like a bulldog.

The keeled slug snake. Eats only slugs which makes it a pain to keep.

A kukri snake's diet can comprise exclusively of eggs, all part of their natural diet in the wild.

The red one is the oligodon signatus while the brown is the oligodon purpurascens.

One of three main flying snake species, the golden tree snake or ornata.

The perennial flying favourite: paradisi.

A popular choce for boiga lovers - the cyanea

A boiga drapiezii green phase

A brown phase drap devouring a gecko

Side by side for comparison

A orange nigriceps - my absolute fav snake species of them all.

Here's an all-black nigriceps for comparison

Finally we have a melanistic boiga cynodon. THeir bites are extremely painful, they're not called dog-tooth cat snakes for nothing.

A reason why we have less and less snakes in the wild.

Looks like you took a bite or two in that picture with the ornata.
My favorite would have to be the blue bronzeback or paradisi.
Great pics, thanks for sharing.

Impressive animals. And excellent specimens.
Out of curiosity, what is the story on the last photo? I realize that they are big bags of snakes and i can spot a couple Mangroves in there.

The mangroves in the two bags are, on the contrary, on their way to Europe to pet keepers such as us. China doesn't import any snakes, they have enough to eat there and mangroves are way too expensive for their palette.
This is the sort of collection that goes on in Malaysia by exotic pet exporters, which i would say is pretty heavy. If the development and deforestation in Malaysia wasn't so bad, there'll be enough to take out but it isn't so today.
Yeah the ornata took a small chunk out of me.
