yay. Another rehab. I just picked this oen up today. It is an albino Cali King, about 3.5-4' and only 318 grams. It is pretty obvious what its problem is. Luckily the swelling is posterior to the vent so it does not interfere with digestion, even though it is very emaciated.
Here you can see some scabbing at the vent.
After applying moderate pressure on the swelling toward the vent, this creamy substance was excreted from the sex organ cavities.
My guess is that someone was a little aggressive in probing this animal, created an interior puncture, and now we have a serious infection. We'll see what the vet says this week. I assume that all of the puss will have to be removed for an antibiotic treatment to be very effective. I am opting for Baytril over Amakacin because of the emaciated condition.
