baby milk snake ate! :)

my friend just caught a baby milk snake and decided to keep it since he knows I like snakes so much (he's not really into them at all, but my mom would never allow one in the house, lol). So we built him a cage, set it up, and at first bought him crickets cuz he was so tiny that I thought he'd never be able to take a pinky (he's like 5 inches long). He def. didn't go for the crickets at all, so I bought a pinky, put both of them in a cardboard box and taped it shut with just some airholes, and two days later he was a fatter snake! This is my "first snake" even though it's not at my house..when I move out in January he's coming with me though. And hopefully if I can afford it I wanna get an RTB too.

A whole pink is an enormous meal for a newborn milk. I get my nates started on the heads of tiny pinks and graduate to whole tiny pinks after 6 or so months.
There's a risk of suffocation with the little guys eating a full pink. The pink will actually pinch the lungs closed as it passes partly because the contraction muscles haven't developed to push the pink down fast enough.
I learned that from experience......
