OH Rats!!!
HEy... I need some advice...
Im trying to switch my Mexican Milk, from pinkie mice to pinkie rats.. I know she'll be able to eat them... but the last 2 attempts to feed her were unsuccessful.. the first time.. she grabbed it the wrong way.. by the top of the rats head.. let it go.. and tried again.. missed.. and gave up... so i let her sit for a few days... she usually got fed on mon. 2 pinki mice... so i waited until now.. thurs.. and tried again.. didn't even attempt a bite... so.... what now.. do i go and get a pinkie mouse and give her that.. (i'll bet myself 5 buck shell wolf that thing down..) and then try the rat... or maybe is it the smell of the rat... she's maybe not used to it... should i try to scent the rat with the mouse.. (if such a thing can be done) i know she's not starving.... should i wait even longer...
I don't think her viv temp is a problem.. she has heat all day.. and its a nice 82 in there.... (what she's always had)... im not worried about her too much yet... i said yet though!!
Any help, tricks or tips would be grateful!!!
I just heard that rats are more nutritious for snakes... then mice!! or am i wrong in trying to switch her!!
Thanks all!!

if you want to scent it simply rub one on the other. I don't know how well that works with pinkies but with older mice and rats it does. Then what do I know, all of a sudden this week my kingsnake shows no interest in eating at all.

Give it a few weeks.
If the snake wont eat them the first try, with hold mice another week, and just keep trying.
Scenting may work, but you shouldnt have to scent, just keep trying.

well... ive tried now for 3 weeks to get her to eat a pinkie rat.. she bit down again but let go.. as soon as I threw in a pinkie mouse... she ate it... I guess the rats are too big for her.. so i guess i'll just stick to mice.. no point in stressing her out!!!
THanks everyone!!
