Zaocys Dhumnades
i was looking an available snakes list, and listed was Zaocys Dhumnades. all it said about them was that they were rare with no common name. i assume it is an asian colubrid. i searched some but found little.

They are large snakes, and imports usually fare very poorly, I would avoid them unless your equipped to deal with them.
They used to be Pytas, but were reassigned to Zaocys.
They are common "Food snakes" in Asian resturants, most make it to snake wine before they get to animal exporters.

Actually, I dont remember if they used to be Ptyas, but I think I remeber them being in a different genus a few years ago.
They are discussed briefly in the snakes of thailand and their husbandry (Meril Cox), I believe.

cb babies would be a different story.
Doesnt happen too often, but if your into a truly unique colubrid, thats one that most everyone else doesnt have.
