garter snake
Ok, the other day the petshop gave me a garter snake. I has a small spot of what I think is scale rot, and I am treating it with betadine and nonmedicated neosporin.
Yesterday I tried feeding it. It wouldn't take on crickets, but when offered pieces of nightcrawlers, it ate like a little pig. I know that their diets should be varied, so I am not going to give up on the crickets, and I am going to pick up some minnows.
What I need to know is how often I should feed this little fellow. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

oh, myth, that thing is so cute!
i have a question about the minnows. will that work? also, would goldfish or roseys from a petstore be safer for it that baitstore minnows? (i don't know where you get your minnows, myth. i was just wondering, 'cause petsore here doesn't have minnows.)
good luck with it!

I've kinda taken the exact opposite approach, im less leary of bait store minnows then I am of feeder gold fish.
But thats just here locally, im sure other places have pretty scary feeder fish regardless of what they are.
