My name is Konrad, I have been and avid herper since the age of 14 when my mom got me my first ball python. Now 18 years later I am still very much in to my hobby. I would not call myself a breeder but I have bred my columbians for the last 4 years, I believe this occurred more by luck than by skill. In the next year I plan on ending my 14-year career as a video/film editor and moving with my wife to NC where I plan on opening a pet shop heavy on the reptile side. At this time I am concentrating on building up my collection with as high-end color morphs as I can afford. And after reading posts by users like CB76 I have developed an intense interest in region specific boas. Well that’s about it about me. If anyone here works for a pet shop or is an owner I would very much to pick your brain on a myriad of subjects also if you have any region specific boas for sale please let me know. Below is my current collection, hopefully it will expand soon

0.1 dwarf retic
2.1 het for albino boas
0.1 anery 66% het for snow boa
0.1 Argentinean boa
1.1 het for albino ball pythons

	Heterozygous Heterozygous - the animal carries the gene for a genetic trait but does not outwardly demonstrate the trait. Example: A boa that is het for albino looks normal but carries the albino gene. When it is bred to another het for albino boa or an albino boa, a percentage of the offspring will be albino.

	Female Female

	1.1 One Male and One Female

	Anerythristic A recessive genetic mutation in which the animal is void of red pigment.

	Morph A morph is a color or pattern variation that is proven to be genetic. Common morphs include albino, anerythristic, gentically striped, Hypomelanistic, and many others. Morphs also include combinations of simple traits such as "Sunglow" which is Albino and Hypomelanistic. These traits may be recessive traits, co-dominant traits, dominant traits, or created through selective breeding (ie Pastel).

well one of the reasons I'm on here is to learn from true herpers what it is they want to see in a store and how they would like h to have things done. I dont plan to make a killing by owning a store I just want to break even perhaps make a small profit. I need something to do with my time and owninf a store will hopefully keep me out of trouble. Retierment can be somewhat dangerous too much time on my hands and all that.

We do have one pet store owner on the site...FAZED1.. is down in Florida and owns a pet shop. We also have a forum here on rtb related to pet suppliers..Ya can find all sorts of What we don't like to find in a pet shop in there hehe. Ya might find what we do like also.

Glad to see you care. Don't get me wrong not all pet stores are bad we all have just ran into to many that were. Like I said its a dark shadow you have to crawl out from under. cool perhaps you'll be my first customer when I open up my shop. I will be in Raleigh in september for the show perhaps we can meet up then. It's kind of scary how much cash I'm putting out getting everything ready. But I'm doing it the right way putting the animals first.

hey radkon welcome to rtb!! if you have any questions about the pet store business get ahold of me on one of the imers im on all of them and my names are in my profile [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img] BadKarma does have a sad point though the pet store business has a "black cloud" so to say hanging over it its really hard to get a good name out for yourself when others have screwed it up so bad for the people that are in it for the animals more then the $ just get ahold of me and ill answer any of the ?'s i can for you if your not on any of the instant messengers im ussually in chat almost everynight of the week good luck!!
