Here's my 12 step program:
- When I first got into herps, I got my leopard geckos, and I thought "Cool, my first herps."
- Then I got my beardie, and I thought, "I'm not addicted at all, just adding another species."
- Then I got my
hog island boa - "Cool, my first snake."
- Then my JCP - "Nope, not addicted, not even close."
- Then my Cal King - "Addicted? Yeah right..."
- Then my baby
BCI - "Addicted? Haha, please...other people have way more snakes than I do."
- Another leopard gecko - "I'm just adding another lizard, that's all!"
- Then my male
hog island boa - "Could I be addicted? Naaah"
- Then I got my last 3 snakes all at once (2 ratsnakes and a bullsnake) - "Okay, I might be addicted...but if I am, it's just a teeny little bit."
As you can see, I haven't quite reached addiction yet. The first 11 steps are just a whole bunch of denial. Then finally on the 12th step, you admit that you're addicted.
