Hi!
Hi, I'm Leigh. I study fossil crocodiles, and it's nice to meet you. I've been keeping herps for just over four years now -- and I think my collection can introduce itself! My babies are listed in the order that I got them.

1. This is my baby boy, Jack. He was the first snake I ever got, a rescue from a kid who was keeping him in a cardboard shoebox without heat or water. He's always been a finicky shedder, but I love him to death.

2. Hermes was another of my rescues. She's probably at least five years old, and a tough old bird. She's currently struggling with a bacterial infection, but I'm nursing her through that, and hopefully everything's going to straighten up.

3. This is Worf, my second basilisk adoption. His previous owners had him on nothing but tomatoes and iceberg lettuce, without UV light. He's got all of that lovely basilisk personality (bitey neurosis), but I love him to death.

4. This is Q. She was purchased three years ago, and lives in a big tank with fish and a nice land feature. She's fun to watch, but creeps the heck out of my Mom.

5. This is Tiresias. He was actually wild-caught by my boyfriend and I; normally, we don't take in field-caught herps, but his color was so beautiful and his personality so amazing that we decided to give him a home (after, of course checking local laws to make sure it was OK). He's been in our care for just under a year now, and he's one of our best snakes: completely handleable, intelligent, and, like any good bullsnake, an absolutely voracious pig. (This picture is kind-of old; he's actually yellowed up quite a bit since it was taken, but he's still beautiful.)

6. This is Bellerophon. He and his cagemate (Euryale) were purchased as a breeding pair in May of last year. They're still not big enough to breed, but they're fabulous snakes, and remarkably handleable for juvenile Savus. (This picture is from when we just got him -- he's grown since.)

7. And this, of course, is Bel's lady-love (fingers crossed!), Euryale. This is actually a recent picture of her; when we got her she was pure orange, and she's speckled up quite a bit.

8. And this beautiful boy is the most recent addition to the collection, an '07 CB Hog Island Boa named Gawain. He's proving quite handleable and a ready eater. I'm hoping to someday get him a friend, but that will have to wait until I have money and space.

Re: Hi!
Welcome! Come on in, make yourself at home, and please share what knowledge you have.
I'm having deja vu, here, lol.
a) We have a ball python named Jack that we adopted
b) We have a wc gopher that was caught and brought to me when I was with my previous b/f
c) Used to have a pair a Savus
Was almost like reading an old post of mine, lmao.
