Whats up Everyone!
Hey everybody, Im prett new at this. Ive been on for a few days now and I love all the information. My name is Oscar Zapien and I live in central Washington State. Last Thursday I received 1 year old 3' 1.1.0 very light colored RTB, I believe their RTB's. So far so good, I just have some issues about humidity and how to bring it down from 75% to 55%. I know lessening the amount of water would help but it hasnt for me.
Other than that I hope to make some good friends over the time and eventually breed my boas.
Oh before I forget, does anyone know how to post pictures? I've heard that pics speak a thousand words. I have some pics I would like to post but dont know how.

Re: Whats up Everyone!
Welcome to the forums...to help with the humidity problem i would suggest drilling more holes in the cage...but it all depends on what type of cage you have

Welcome to the site! It's always good to see bright-eyed new members!
As for the humidity, there are several factors that we need to know in order to give you accurate advice. What type of caging are you using? What type of substrate?

Re: Whats up Everyone!
That cage is too small to house two boas together. It will most likely lead to a dominance and the weaker one stressing out and dieing.

Re: Whats up Everyone!
raze is right...you should only have 2 boas in the same cage if you are breeding

Re: Whats up Everyone!
You could keep 2 boas in a cage double the requirements for one boa. So if a boa is housed in a 6'L x 2'W x 2'T then 2 would need at least a 12'L x 4'W x 4'T minimum. I would go bigger such as 12'L x 6'W x 5'T

Re: Whats up Everyone!
Looks as though you have more than enough ventelation for humidity to come down... maybe you shoud check with another gauge and see if yours is not dodgy, also might help if you dont put the bowl on the hot side of the viv, less evapouration...
Nice looking boas you have there...

Re: Whats up Everyone!
The water bowl is actually in the cold side, away from the basking spot. I was going to do 2-4x2x2 cages, but I was talking to the owner of the boas and he said that I should be fine doing one cage and putting both the male and female together for about another year to 18 months. So I thought I would and build a new cage when it was time to seperate them. I was hoping I could breed these two next year so around September ill go out and build another cage and seperate them to get ready for breeding. Hopefully I'll do okay since it will be my first time ever breeding boas.
DO you know how I can increase my cold side temp from 70 to 80 degrees. I heard that 70 degrees is to cold and can lead to RI and digestive problems. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Oscar

Re: Whats up Everyone!
