Stupid Doctors !!!!
Hi Will be around a bit more now - haven't been around for about 3 weeks as my Son has been in hospital, for 10 days he had been ill, got the doc out and he said he had Tonsillitus, still didn't improve so took him over to the hospital where another one said he had a virus, then at midnight the same day I had to call out the ambulance,on entry to the hospital I was told it was constapation ! ( dont think so he hadn't been able to eat for 10 days already !) at 6 am they operated and removed 900ml of pus from a burst appendix ! you would have thought 1 out of 3 would have got it right - anyway after a total of 23 days with no food, a big scar and being hooked up to various drips and tubes he is now home and starting to recover -
Happy Christmas to you all and best wishes for 2007 !!!
Take care Sharon xx

Holy cow! Glad he's recovering and doing better. A ruptured appendix is scary stuff.

Sharon, big hugs to you and your son. That is very scary. My husband had undiagnosed appendicitis which luckely didn't burst but they didn't find it until he went in for exploratory colonoscopy and found cancerous polyps. It gives you very little faith in the medical community sometimes. Prayers for quick recovery for your son (and for you, I know how draining it can be).

 Thanks guys ! xx
You start to wonder sometimes - my gut feeling kept telling me it was more serious, but you think they are the docs and they should know, he has Aspergers Syndrome and has a very high pain threshold which in this case probably didn't help him - they should have been able to tell from his notes he has only seen a doc once ( apart from his baby jabs ) hes now 14 -so should have known he never makes a fuss - this time he was in so much pain I knew something was going on inside -
Thanks for all your Support

I always say go with the gut. Unfortunately we learned the hard way when my girls lost their best friend a couple years ago. It is the most heartbreaking feeling in the world when you have to watch your little girls watch their best friend being closed up in a casket. It was all over a medical mistake and undiagnosed pneumonia. She was sent home 3 times before they took her to a different hospital and unfortunately the respiratory arrest came faster then the treatment did. Be a pain, yell, kick and scream, whatever you have to do. It's sorry that this is how it has to be sometimes but when it comes to the life of your child I don't think you can ever pester your doctors enough.

Hi Thanks - hope hubby is ok now, yes you are right about it being draining, more so than doing a full weeks work, just back and fourth to the hospital - I am lucky enough to have good friends who gave me lifts backwards and forwards as I don't drive, I am also on a door to door bus route which is handy.
Take Care Sharon

Saints preserve us all!
.
How terrifying!
.
I'm supposing the only reason you haven't gone postal is the relief that your kid is going to be ok. And what a trooper he must be.
