Well, I finally got off my butt and decided to write a formal introduction.
I found RTB about a month ago when I was having some issues with my Redtail. The folks here were able to give me some great advice and I was able to correct my boa's behavioral problem. Now I find that I come here and read what’s going on every day, hoping to learn something new, and most days I do. So before I say hello, I would like to say thanks to everyone here at RTB.net for making this great online community possible.
So, with that said, Hello.
I have had a long running fascination with herps. My first reptile was a female green iguana named Izzy. Unfortunately as a child I was not the best suited to care of this animal, and regrettably Izzy died. It was a while before the herp bug would strike again. After entering college I became infatuated with snakes. I love all the different shapes and colors. My junior year of college I took the plunge and bought my first snake, an amel corn female named Otto (after the school mascot). After a few months I decided that Otto’s tank looked awfully empty with just her in it, so I brought home a roommate (before I knew to quarantine). Otto’s roommate came to be known as Cassandra. She is a green blush snow corn (incidentally, she is in need of a prince charming…). Well, I couldn’t stop there. I cam a cross a two year old Royal Diadem which I named Hiss after her tendency to be cranky. My collection held at three snakes for several months until the addition of Missy the Ball Python to my collection. Missy is about the nicest snake you could hope to meet and the one I spend the most time with. Then this year I added Lucile (who I got in trade for Hiss). Lucile is my ornery (less so now) baby Redtail. As of now my collection holds at 4, but I have my eye on a
GTP or GTB once I have more room. I am also increasingly interested in Chameleons, and will mostly likely invest in one after I move into my next apartment. My girlfriend and I also have a few other animals between us including a yellow lab, a sugar glider, and a dwarf hamster named snacks. I will post some pictures of whoever I can at a latter date (some of Cassandra are already up).
