Oscar - a red tail age 18
Hi all. I just found this forum today and was excited to know you are all out here.
I have one red tailed boa named Oscar. I have had him since 1993 when I bought him from a guy I went to college with. Oscar was 5 years old at the time.
Here is a pic of him I took a while back: http://www.jrmints.com/pets/images/oscar_shed.jpg
I look forward to hanging out and getting to know all of you and your exotic friends.
Paula

Hello
Hello, everyone. I'm new to this site/forum. I just found it today. I'm pretty new to snake keeping. I had a ball python a few years ago, but only had it for about 3 months before I had to move due to a job offer. I gave it to someone who already had snakes and knew how to properly take care of it. Anyway, I'm settled now, and I wanted a red tail boa. A coworker was in a motorcycle accident about a month ago, and asked me to take care of his red tail boa. After I took it home, he asked me If I wanted to keep it permanently. I accepted, so here I am. It's about 24 inches right now, and I'm feeding it 1 rat pup each week. I have to find a pet store that sells frozen rats, because I don't know if I can kill the rats myself. Anyway, I look forward to getting to know everyone, and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Order them over the interenet
www.rodentpro.com
www.bayourodents.com
www.bigcheeserodents.com
These are the ones I have ordered from. If you have to, its easy to fill a rat and humane. Put it in a pillow cage and slam it as hard as you can into the floor. Prest, dead rodent

Thanks, but that's one of the problems I was having. I know how to kill rats, I'm just not sure I can do it. I used to keep rats, and it's kind of hard for me to kill them. anyway, thanks for the advice.

Put them in a pillow case and slam them on a hard surface a few good times. It works great and then just put them in bags to freeze for the 30 day period to kill of most all parasites
