Hello Mr. Anderson
Introducing my new veiled boy Mr. Anderson. I got him as a gift from a friend, hes very sweet, and very gorgeous! I've never had a cham before so I hope he does well with me!
I wasn't expecting him so hes in a temporary cage until the complete setup I ordered from FLChams comes in. Once that happens I'll get more pics and possibly a video, this guy is seriously great!

Re: Hello Mr. Anderson
awww how cute the hard thing about chameleons is that they usually wont drink out of a water bowl, so you have to either mist or set up some kind of drip system so that it drips down onto the leaves and such in the cage. sometimes we put ice cubes on the tops of ours and let them drip lol.

Re: Hello Mr. Anderson
I talked for a long while with the people at FLChams at the Repticon show so I think I'm fairly ready for the guy, but I've heard so much about how fragile they are I am just a little iffy haha. I started spraying him earlier and he came right up to where I was spraying and started drinking off the mesh, hopefully that means I won't have problems getting him to drink. Misting is already a part of my daily routine anyways.

Re: Hello Mr. Anderson
everyone says that, but its cause of the water thing, and the stress. im assuming most people just wanna handle their new tiny babies all day and it stresses them, and then they dont know about the water thing, and thats why they die, especially if they put more than one in the same cage, or next to each other but still in full view of each other ive never had a prob, they are really good eaters and some can learn to like fruit and veggie, and they pound live insects like theres no tomorrow

Re: Hello Mr. Anderson
I love their little googly eyes. What's the average life span for those guys? I've always heard that chameleons don't live terribly long.

They live over 5 years usually... not terribly short, but not very long either compared to snakes and tortoises.
