i'll be raising them for a couple months first. chameleons are one of those animals you don't want to let go until they are well started. they are so cool watching them eat with a tongue twice the size of them and there big bug eyes that can look all around

i have built several of them cages before that article even came out. they work very well but they are better for outdoor use not indoor can't put 2 lights + dripper on the top of the cage

Ahh I see.. How are your veiled cham's temperments. I know the mag said they were a bit agressive, but that was the first I had read about it. LOL

Soooooo cute!
My male veiled is more shy than anything else, but when I hold him he'll huff and puff and open his mouth but he's never bitten. And boy do they have some sharp little claws and their tight grip doesn't make the pain in your fingers any better! LOL

How many hatched and how big was her clutch? I had a veiled that layed like 30 some eggs, I had them all in an incubator. Things were going great, then someone bumped the incubator and the eggs fell sideways. There was no way of knowing where the air hole was, so I only ended up with 6 that hatched. Of those, three died within two weeks, but the other remaining turned into stunning beauties.
One thing I learned--once the male has "had his way" with the female, he will not stop trying, whether she wants to or not. I had them in two different trees in my bedroom. I came home one day, and the male had crawled up to the top of his tree, then crawled ACROSS an extension cord that was attached to the ceiling, then dropped down into her tree. He snubbed her so bad, that I had to put her to sleep--he had paralyzed her.
