I've always had a perference for veileds. They seem to be a little more stress tolerant than most cham species... but any of the more common species (by common I mean ones you can easily find care sheets for, jacksons - panthers, etal) can be a good one to work with, just make sure you get a healthy one to begin with. I can't stress enough that your initial choice makes a whole world of difference in what you end up with for a pet. If you get a baby, make sure you go with the one that looks the healthiest and strongest, if a cham is going to expire its more likely to be in its first few months. You might even want to try getting an already established older one, if you're at all worried about stressing a baby. Once they are about a year old they become much more tolerant to changes in their environment and accidents in care.

Wow, very cool cham, Rav. He doesn't look too happy there, lol.
I've also heard panthers are really good first chams because they and veileds are probably the hardiest chams. Panthers are also usually more docile and friendly than veileds. Problem is, they're so much more expensive than veileds. Panthers go for approx. $150-$250 and veileds go for $50-80.

Yeah, Crayola is my only cham at the moment. I want more, but I really don't want to spread myself thin. They take careful care as is... I've had a few rescues in the past, without much luck though I'm afraid.

Hi
Veiled chams I think are your best choice. They handle much better than most other chams and mines never really got stressed or angry with me yet. Mine cost about £75 erm not sure what that is in dollars i think its around $50. Hes very healthy and he was in great condition when i bought him.
Youll need about a 1ft wide and 2.5ftlenghand about 2ft high to begin with. Put lots of braches in there along with all the other stuuf which the little guy needs, im not going to go into all the requirements because im sure you know them.
Anyways sorry if that bored you, but i would really reccomend taht you get a veiled chameleon.
Later
Jowex

I like the Panthers better myself and think that they are worth the money. Also, Welcome to rtb Jowex... 75 brittish pounds are about 100$, not 50$. Just thought I'd clear that up...
