I was reading the long thread by ?lisa/lori? in the FAQ about kids and snakes and it made me think about a better way to secure the cage.

Would people mind describing or taking pictures of how they have lock/secured the lids? Of interest to me is the cages that have the opening on the front.

I've seen the locks for two sliding pieces of glass but really don't know where I would buy one...

Thanks all.

Two sliding pieces can be secured with a safety latch that can be found at hardware stores, and buiding supply shops across america. They are generally sold as locks.latches for disply cases. Look in the door or hardware sections.
The only front opener i've got are visions with BP's, and i'm not concerned with escapes from them, sense they aren't strong enough to even budge the tempered glass, much less take it off track.
I use bungee cords and locking straps on some 10's and 20's and 55's at home.
