Quick simple question, help please

Just bought a thermometer today, it measures the temperature in two different areas, one with a probe and another on the actual unit itself, and the unit itself measures humidity also. So i was wondering what your suggestions are for the best setup of this unit in my cage. I was thinking of putting the probe in the cages hottest spot, that being under the hide to measure that temp, and then the unit which will also measure temp and humidity, should i put that on the wall on the warm side, cool side, or the middle?

I would do cool side

I put the "box" or main part on the cool side about an inch above the substrate and then run the probe to the hot side and leave the probe sitting on top of the substrate.
