Re: Killer deal on 6' enclosures!!!
The nice thing about the plexiglass on the sides is that it will let indirect light through from my only windows. Boaphiles would block the light and make the room darker.

Re: Killer deal on 6' enclosures!!!
It probably wouldn't be very hard to do all that. I am sure you could get really detailed instructions on how to do it and what you need from someone on here.

Re: Killer deal on 6' enclosures!!!
It wouldn't be hard to fix that up at all. And I agree with Kent, plenty of people on here could help you with plans to fix it. I've got a few ideas myself

Re: Killer deal on 6' enclosures!!!
I just talked to my friend who has carpentry tools and skills. He said it might not be cost effective to do it, especially since I'd need to rent a truck to haul it to my friend's house (couldn't be done at my place), then haul it down to Denver which is an hour away. I will look at it anyway. Framing windows is a lot of work.
By the time expenses get upwards of $500-600, the Boaphiles (which only weigh 50 lbs each) start sounding better.
I also need to buy a cabinet to set this thing on. Another $200.

Jeff make a base cabinet / pedestal to set his cages on. Just check his site out for it. Plastic Reptile Cages, Tanks and Racks. Snake, arboreal, lizard and turtle light weight custom flexwatt heated enclosures.
One of these day I will get around to making and selling plastic type cages that are cheap to ship. Just to busy with other stuff in my life to start doing it right now.
Take care
Tom

Yes, if I end up getting the Boaphiles, I will definitely get his pedestal, too. I don't think anyone can beat his prices for the product you get.

Yep I agree with you there. I hope to be able to bet his price when I do start selling plastic cages. I know my quality will be the same or better than his cages. But for right now I think Jeff makes the best plastic cage out there.
Take care
Tom

Re: Killer deal on 6' enclosures!!!
The thing I like about Boaphiles is that they are so lightweight. They are easy to move and no assembly required. They also look nice. Two white ones with black hinges stacked on a pedestal would look very nice in my living room.
But I still cannot afford them.

Re: Killer deal on 6' enclosures!!!
I checked out the display case. Very large and heavy. But would be too costly to move it to Denver and remodel it. There is a vertical wall down the center that is bolted in from front and back, and the holes were filled. Too much work. I'd have to pay someone to do the work off-site.
I guess I'll keep looking.

Re: Killer deal on 6' enclosures!!!
There is company called critter condoz based in cali... There is a lady who sells the cages for them here in TX too... Her 6x2x2's are $300 and 4x2x2's are somewhere between 200-250... We got our 4x2x2 from her for $195 at the Arlington show cause it was her first show... They are melamine, not plastic, but still nice and prolly the best price I've seen on melamine

Re: Killer deal on 6' enclosures!!!
The shipping is what will kill you on melamine cages.

Re: Killer deal on 6' enclosures!!!
Thanks, Sakara. I've had several members here offer to build me enclosures, but the shipping is always too high. I figure if it gets over the $500 mark, I may as well just get the Boaphiles. I was just hoping for something really inexpensive on CL. Something that I could break even on when I sold the two tanks they're using now. Then later down the road when I win the lotto, I can get the Boaphiles.

Re: Killer deal on 6' enclosures!!!
well I know they can ship the enclosures disassembled as well... I'm sure that would be a lil bit cheaper, haha... Or I could find out how much it would be to ship them through military shipping prolly be a bit less...

Re: Killer deal on 6' enclosures!!!
I appreciate your offer. But honestly, I don't want to spend $600 for melamine cages AND shipping AND have to buy a pedestal. I especially don't want to have to put them together myself.
