I would not recommend using Bed-a-Beast for either snake. They have a tendency to burrow and it is possible for the bits to get into the Royal's heat pits and into both snakes' mouths. That will incur mouth rot. Sphagnum moss (not just any green moss... emerald moss is deadly if it gets damp) is not a good substrate. With that you are asking for scale rot. It is good to pile it up in the corners on the warm side for humidity purposes and they will sleep on it, but they won't be living on it. They need to have dry spots to lie on as well. Using cypress mulch for arboreals is good, but for ground dwelling snakes...I'm not so sure. Since it has to be damp in order to raise humidity, I would think that for a Royal and a
bci, it may cause some scale rot. If you are only wetting down half of it, it might not be so bad. What kind of enclosures are they in?
